Student Absence

If your son/daughter is too unwell to attend school, we ask that you notify Student Services by telephoning 01223 551603 or email tru-attendance@trumpingtoncc.org.uk each day that they are absent.

If your child feels unwell or is injured during the school day, they should come to the Student Services office. They will be assessed by a first aider. If they feel that they are too unwell to remain in school, they will contact a parent/carer to arrange for them to be collected.

Registration

If your son/daughter joins us part-way through the school year, they will be met on their first day by a member of the Student Services team who will give them their timetable and cashless catering card. Some students will also be allocated a Chromebook. Student services will take your son/daughter to their form room and introduce them to their Form Tutor.

Attendance

Attending school on time every day is essential for students to achieve their full potential. Student Services closely monitor the attendance of all students. There are rewards for those students who maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

Where attendance becomes a concern, they work closely with parents and form tutors to support students to make improvements. For more serious cases, they liaise with the Education Welfare Officer, who works directly with families to bring about change.

Family Support

The Student Services team is here to support not only the students, but their families as well. There is always someone in the office from 8.15am until 4pm every day. Parents/Carers can contact them at any time with questions or concerns.

In conjunction with the Equality and Intervention department, they have links to outside agencies such as the Family Intervention Partnership and the Education Welfare Service, and can make referrals when needed.

Free School Meals

The Student Services team administer the Free School Meals process. If you think you might qualify for Free School Meals, they can advise you on how to apply, and can supply you with the relevant forms.

If you are registered for Free School Meals you could also apply for assistance with the cost of music tuition and school trips.

As well as the assistance that Free School Meals provide to families, the Government gives the school extra funding for every student in receipt of Free School Meals. With this funding we are able to provide extra resources and opportunities for all students.

Exams

Student Services support the exams process. From dealing with day to day queries, to telephoning students to remind them of their next exam, we do everything we can to support students through the exam period. We are also there on results day to celebrate the students’ success.
